From research to teaching: The leading role in higher education institutions through the model of concentric circles ; De la investigación a la docencia: La función directiva en instituciones educativas de educación superior a través del modelo de círculos concéntricos

Abstract

This article was performed as teaching material on the basis of research activities carried out by teachers, auxiliaries and students from the Faculty of Economics of the National University of La Plata. It aims to show a model of analysis of the management function proposed by Mintzberg, adapted and exemplified by information obtained from primary sources. The team worked on the specific tasks performed by managers with little study in the traditional literature, deans and hospital managers, in 2 projects for 4 years. This material presents the information obtained from the analysis of the responses of 2 decanes using a specific theoretical framework in order to facilitate their understanding and study. The methodological design of the framework projects for the work was qualitative, descriptive in scope, using appropriate harvesting techniques such as interview, observation and analysis of documents. From the subjects interviewed, the model could be applied, with evidence of the relationships theoretically posed as values and roles emphasised, the context of the function and agenda of tasks and, finally, these components in the style it seems to perform.
