Abstract

This textbook provides an overview of the political science discipline and is suitable for introductory courses at the undergraduate level. In Part I, the book covers important themes for political science undergraduate majors, such as defining politics, ideologies, institutions of governance, concepts in democracy, and public law. Part II provides an overview of the major subdisciplines in political science: political theory, international relations, comparative politics, American politics, public policy and public administration, and methods.
