Allow Hindus to bring in wives
Abstract
This article discusses the results of the appeal to parliament made by a delegation of South Asian immigrants asking for fair treatment as citizens of the British Empire and for the abolition of or relaxation of exclusionary immigration laws. --Members of parliament agreed to consider allowing South Asian immigrants to bring their families to Canada, under strict regulation, but that any other concessions would have to be discussed with imperial authorities before a decision could be made. ; Research project undertaken by the University of the Fraser Valley South Asian Studies Institute, formerly the Centre for Indo-Canadian Studies in 2015
