Conflits armés, mobilités sous contraintes et recompositions des échanges vivriers dans le nord-ouest de la Centrafrique

Abstract

International audience ; Since armed conflicts have broken out in CAR, food products trading in and around the northwestern part of the country is experiencing significant changes. For a long time, this region was considered as a crucial point for exchanging food products between southern Chad and Ubangui's banks, but northwestern CAR is now troubled by an internal crisis of agricultural production and a disjunction with external and urban poles of consumption. Roadblocks are held by armed men, a situation which creates restriction of food exchanges. However, local exchanges have carried on, following a redistribution of population, which is a result of both forced migration and spatial redistribution of markets.
