Resolution presented to South Carolina
The Appalachian National Park Association drafted a number of resolutions favoring the establishment of a national forest reserve and/or a national park in the southern Appalachians and presented these to southern legislators. In 1901, North Carolina passed a resolution ceding the right to purchase land and acquire title by the federal government.
